Lynn Hendricks
My work is inspired by my experiences and relationship with the wonderful people I socialize with everyday and met when I travel locally or abroad. I am fascinated by the world’s eclectic cultural, diverse terrain, history and architecture. I have traveled the United States, Mexico, Canada and Europe taking clay impressions of architectural elements and incorporating them in to my sculptures and large anthropological tiles. I have been to the twenty one California Missions collecting impressions and creating a Mission Cross series commissioned by the Western Heritage Museum for their “Civilizing of California” Exhibit.

I believe creating art is a joy…but sharing art is the reason for the creation.

Public Art is very important to me as well. I have served on the San Gabriel Valley Metro Gold Line Arts Commission, coordinated Art enhancement events for the city of Glendora, and successfully worked with the Building and Planning department to require an Art element with each new project in the City. I am the individual the City relies upon for recommendations for public art and the submission of accepted proposals. I completed the restoration and beautification of a 1922 American Neo Gothic Church. I negotiated the purchase of the adjacent property of a 1914 Victorian Farm House. This was relocated to the Historic district, so a parking lot could be developed. I met with Estate Trustees, attorneys, City Staff, Architects, eight contractors and inspectors to complete the project on time.

My strength is designing & developing Public Art Projects that convey the client’s desires beyond their original expectation.
